Yes folks, I do have likes. I have lots of likes.

• I like fish. In particular, I like a fresh water variety of catfish of the family/genus/whatever "Corydoras". They are probably the most neat of all the fish. They aren't flashy, they mostly don't grow large and impressive, but they like to play in the air bubbles of the bubble curtain. They are really cool fish.

• I like graphics, in particular animated graphics. I have a large collection. I would use them but I've come to realize that they are hefty hogs of space. So I've become more circumspect about their use.

• I like iced tea on a hot summer's day.

• I like my son. I don't just love him, I actively like him. He's kind, considerate, sensitive, has a wonderfully wry sense of humour and a very infectious smile. He's growing to be a very neat human bean.

• A cup of quality well made, reasonably strong coffee in the morning. It's even better if the coffee is prepped the night before and automatically made before I've even gotten my heinie out of bed.

• I like bicycling. Well, I don't so much like bicycling as I like having a mode of transportation that doesn't spew fossil fuel waste emissions into the air. I don't dislike bicycling enough to not do it in winter. You can click on the close up of me for a larger, more detailed view.
  
      
  This particular day was about -25 C with a headwind that would have brought the temperature down to somewhere about -30 C or so. I create so much heat though, that from the time I slowed down and turned my back to the wind as I came up the driveway, to the point where the second photo was taken, all the frost on my eyelashes had melted away.
  
• Nearly anything with shrimp in it. I say nearly because I haven't tasted everything with shrimp in it. Yet.

• I like my hobbies. Though why a person would choose a hobby that they didn't like is beyond me, but some people can be odd.

• I like my friends. They're all warped in their very own ways and that keeps our relationships interesting.

• I like my husband. He's pretty cool.
  
  This is my husband. He's odd, but if he weren't he wouldn't have married me.
  
  
  This is a more recent photo. He's decided to grow out his hair until it doesn't grow anymore. He's hairy, handsome, and despite his protestations, a good guy.
  
  
• I really enjoy a good mystery. P.D. James, Dorothy L. Sayers, Agatha Christie, Dashiel Hammet, Sara Paretsky are all authors that I've read and liked. There are more but I can't think of more right now.

• I really like true crime books. A well written book about a crime past will absorb me even at times when my attention span is shorter than the life span of a sneeze. One of my favourites is Mostly Murder It's an autobiography of Sir Sydney Smith. He's a hoot and tells can tell a terrific story. Check it out.

• I really like being a non-smoker.I never liked smoking when I was doing it, but I liked the emotional cover it gave me.

• I love the smell of clothes that have been dried on the clothesline on a hot windy day.

• I like cartoons. Bugs Bunny, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Tales from the Crypt, Mummies Alive are my favourites. I wish more of them were out on DVD.

• I love shade. When I'm outside on a hot day I seek shade and stick to it (sometimes quite literally) as long as possible.

• I like learning but I don't like school very much because most of the time they don't teach what I want to learn. So most of my learning takes place in real life, from real people and by making real mistakes.

• I like furry animals though it seems now I'm allergic to a lot of them :/ That's why we have fish now. They don't tend to shed on my pillow.

• I like pot sticker dumplings. Whether they have meat in them or tofu makes not much difference to me I like them.

• I like funny movies. I like dramas too, but I especially like funny ones. Mel Brooks, Leslie Neilson, et al are among my favourites. Shrek is a pretty funny movie. I thought I had outgrown potty humour but aparently I was wrong.
